Class Dress Code

 

2025-26 SPOTLIGHT DANCE STUDIO DRESS CODE

My First Dance Class: Girls - Comfortable clothing or leotard and tights. Pink ballet shoes. Boys - white t-shirt with black pants, black ballet shoes.

Ballet/Pointe: Girls - Black leotard, pink tights. Pink ballet shoes (leather or canvas). Hair in a bun, with bangs pulled back. Boys - white t-shirt with black bike shorts or jazz pants, and black ballet shoes.

All Hip Hop: Girls & Boys - Any comfortable clothing, such as shorts or sweatpants, and a tank top. Street sneakers that have not been worn outside. NO jeans or pajama pants. Hair in a ponytail.

POM: Girls - Any solid color leotard, any color tights, black spandex shorts. Tan pull on jazz shoes. Hair in a bun.  Boys - white t-shirt with black bike shorts or jazz pants, and black jazz shoes.

All Jazz: Girls - Any solid color leotard, any color tights, black spandex shorts. Tan pull on jazz shoes. Hair in a bun.
Boys - white t-shirt with black bike shorts or jazz pants, and black jazz shoes.

Lyrical/Modern: Girls - Any solid color leotard, any color stirrup or footless tights, black spandex shorts. No shoes. Hair in a bun. Boys - white t-shirt with black bike shorts or jazz pants.

Tap: Girls - Any solid color leotard, any color tights, black spandex shorts. Black Oxford (lace-up) tap shoes. Hair in a bun. Boys - white t-shirt with black bike shorts or jazz pants. Black Oxford (lace-up) tap shoes.
Tap Levels 3 and above - Full soled tap shoes only (no split soled).

Acro: Girls - Any color leotard, any color stirrup or footless tights, with or without spandex shorts.  No shoes. Hair in a bun. Boys - white t-shirt with black bike shorts or jazz pants.

Musical Theatre: Girls - Any color leotard, any color tights, black spandex shorts. Hair in a bun.

  • MT 1: Tan pull on jazz shoes.
  • MT 2: Tan pull on jazz shoes.
  • MT 3: Tan 1 1/2 inch character heels.

Boys - white t-shirt with black bike shorts or jazz pants, and black jazz shoes.

Ballet/Tap 1 & 2: Girls - Any color leotard (may wear an attached skirt), pink tights. Pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes. Hair in a ponytail. Boys - White t-shirt and black sweatpants. Black jazz shoes and black tap shoes.

Ballet/Tap/Jazz 3:  Girls - Any color leotard (may wear an attached skirt), pink tights. Pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes (they will wear their ballet shoes for jazz). Hair in a ponytail. Boys - White t-shirt and black sweatpants. Black jazz shoes and black tap shoes.

Adult Classes: Comfortable clothing, see above styles for proper shoes.
